My scale is stuck!

Sunday, June 18, 2017

So I have been tracking food and eating healthier for 6 days now, and my scale is stuck.

I don't quite know why there is no effect, but I will give it another week and see how it goes.

I am not gonna lie, I had a bit of a meltdown this afternoon. It's hard not to get discouraged when your body does not respond to your efforts.

It makes me feel so helpless.

Eat more green vegetables and drink only water. Cut back on portions of meat and starches.

If you want to try something different you could do a 3 day mini cleanse, so do this. Eat nothing but 4 oz of grapes every two hours, about seven times a day. It will give your digestive track a break and allow it to purge itself naturally. It keeps your blood sugars steady and they taste good.(You can also use any grape, get a couple of different ones). Don't do this at all if you are insulin resistant or diabetic. I did this following recommendations to get over a gall bladder attack when you couldn't eat hardly anything for fear of another attack. Any how I did this on two separate occasions and each time I lost seven pounds. Afterwards I continued to eat lightly in order to not quickly regain. After 3 days you will be sick of grapes and will want to eat normal foods but for a healthful cleansing pause for your body that will give you an immediate result, it was pretty easy to do and felt pretty darn spectacular to me. It was very exciting to finally lose something, I had been stuck for a long time too.

I only pay attention to the month-to-month change. There are definitely weeks where the scale won't move at all!

I find it really doesn't pay to weigh in more than every couple of weeks...I ALWAYS get frustrated when I weigh in more often than that, because weight fluctuates so much. hang in there!

I know it is frustrating. But the scale will show it....just continue to do what you are doing.

Mel, stick with it! Keep tracking and look for "hidden" pitfalls, like sodium, sugar or fats.. It takes a little while for your body to adjust, so do the best you can and see what happens. Right now you are doing "babysteps"... if that isn't doing the trick you may have to go to a more structured approach to get on your way.
Did you have a fun weekend and Father's Day?

Six days is such a small time-frame! Really commit to limiting you intake and stay off the scale for a month.
