Sometimes Slow & Steady is Really F%$@ing Annoying.

Let's start with the good news.

I lost 3.6 pounds in the last 4 weeks after this new diet change. My efforts haven't been perfect, but I've really cleaned up a lot of my habits lately, and I'm feeling really good overall. There's definitely been a learning curve, too, and weeks 3-4 were much closer to perfect than weeks 1-2.

I went back to the RD for my 4-week follow-up and on their scale, I only lost 2.5 pounds. That was a little disappointing, but a loss is a loss is a loss, right?

So, focusing on the positive:

1. I (officially) lost 2.5 pounds.
2. 2.3 of the 2.5 were fat.
3. I didn't lose any muscle (nor did I gain any).
4. My lean body mass is up, my BMI is down, my fat percentage is down, basically all the numbers are moving in the right direction.

SO, GO ME.

I am happy with all of that. I am. But HOLY HELL this is slow. It's always been slow. This is not news. But it still gets frustrating.

The RD is happy with my progress, but looking at my food logs she still wants me to lower the fat. Olive oil and cheese are the biggest culprits here. I said in an earlier post my protein's been a little lower than targeted and my fat intake has been a little higher, and, well, it's showing.

We talked a lot about my three upcoming trips and how to cope. I have protein powder packed and ready to go, and I'll try to limit the fat. It'll be easier on vacation than on the international work trips for a multitude of reasons, but I'm going to try my hardest.

Slow and steady ... UGH. But YAY. I'm so conflicted!!! ;)
