Blew It

Saturday, June 10, 2017

Blew it last night (Thursday, June 8th). One reason I need to keep good sleeping hours is that being tired is my biggest trigger (out of many) for having sweets. Yesterday evening my high school student brought over her pay envelope (from May) and it was obviously the last time I'll see her, mainly because Japanese high school students spend every waking hour preparing for entrance exams.

She also brought some goodies - small cakes - and I stuck them in the kitchen. Then I made the mistake of turning to CNN at 11 p.m. and stayed up late watching the Comey hearings. As it got later and later, I ended up eating 2 of the small cakes - on top of a Costco muffin earlier in the day (which are huge) and my usual chocolate.

No matter how often I go to the medical fitness center, I'm not going to get back into my smaller-sized clothing eating empty calories like that. The main trick is to get to bed earlier. Tonight, in bed by midnight. Lights out by 1 a.m. - or earlier!!

[P.S.) I didn't get to bed until 2 p.m. So hard because there are always so many little things to do before I go to bed, and then I want to spend some time reading ...
