My Birthday

emoticon Since losing my Mom in 1981 @ the young age of 59(yes I still cry for her).
I made a silent promise to retrieve as many of those years she was deprived of as I could.
Today we start year 14 Mom and I'm smiling for you through my tears.
So if you could please send down a huge emoticon from heaven to SparkPeople.Com for helping to push us over my 10 year goal it would be like giving them a hug Mom.

    My mom was 3 years old when her mother died in her early to mid 20s. When my mom realized she was ill in her early to mid 20s with a 1 year old and an infant, she began bargaining with God for 5 more years. So, like you, she wanted to retrieve as many of those years lost by her mother as she could. She lived long enough to reach her 73rd birthday, not much more. But, she retrieved nearly 50 years and that was not only her good fortune, it was ours.

    Like your mother, not many in our family have lived to see their 60s, I'm looking to 60 with hope (2.5 years to go) and my siblings are looking to me with hope figuring if I can breach the 60s, so can they. It is my hope that my youngest sibling will reach 50. He has 9 days to go. Life has been a serious struggle for him.

    I feel blessed to still have my Mom here (she's 87). She'll be visiting in a couple of weeks and I'll give her a big hug for you and all whose Mom's are no longer here.

    I know the feeling. I was 50 yrs. old when my Mom died on Mother's Day ( and had to sign paper's to cut her off life support). We share these moment's ALL OF US WE STAND AS "ONE".

    My moms been gone since May 209. Her and my dad are together once again. She was so ready to go be in heaven with Jesus and was in so much pain here it helped me when it was time for her to leave this earth.
