Outdoors in the Sunshine

I have had flu the past three days, and today awoke feeling a lot better, except for this stupid persistent coughing fits.
It was a lovely day here.......warm temps, full sunshine, and I noticed a beautiful rose in bloom on one of my plants. Looking closely, I saw a lot of dead stuff that needed cutting off the rose bush.
In the house I go to get the pruners. Did a good job on the plant, then looked around at others in front of my house.
I saw the result of not having any time to do gardening for the past couple years due to DH's illness and the demands on my time.
My poor plants! How bravely they held up, despite my ignoring them for so long!
Look at all those WEEDS! The poor plants were being choked to death by those nasty weeds, yet they were giving their all to keep alive.
Into the garage I go, find the kneeling pad, pruners, loppers, and rake.
I get down on my knees and begin pulling weeds. Then I remember I forgot to turn on music while I garden. I love to do the two together. I chose "The Rite of Spring" to play for me and my plants, and it was heavenly being outside without having to rush inside to see if everything was okay.
Got one side of the front all prettied up, moved on to the other side and did likewise. Then went into the garage again and found the fertilizers. Some plants need repotting, but I don't have the strength to do that today.
I get all the weeds and unwanted dead branches hauled off, come back and feed my babies. Water them all well, then sit and listen to the recording again.
I just sat and listened. I was at peace. It was my time with my plants and music.
It has been a very long time since I have had that luxury.
It was good.
