Requesting Prayers for my brother David
Friday, May 26, 2017
I spent 4 1/2 hours last night at the ER with my brother. He had routine lab work done yesterday at his doctors, received a call by 4:30PM asking him to go to the ER for what we thought were going to be IV fluids. His Creatinine level was 5.1 (at the docs) 5.4 (at the ER) normal range is 0.7-1.3 Creatinine and BUN measure how well your kidneys are functioning. His were 5x higher than they should have been. The ER doc and his Dr both wanted him to be admitted. He refused to go until Saturday morning. They made him sign AMA (Against Medical Advice) papers basically make him responsible for walking out the doors of the ER. My brother is very stubborn. He hates hospitals. (Don't we all). What I didn't mention is when he had his quadruple bypass Jan 2016 they discovered he only had 1 working kidney the other had shriveled up and died. See where I'm going with this? He should have went last night. I now know how my Saturday morning will be spent, getting him settled in at a hospital 45 miles away from where we live.
Thank you for saying a prayer and wishing us well.
As for me,,sitting on my tennis shoe is working wonders for my sciatic. What a neat little trick right? I also received my synvisc injection last Thursday. A few days ago my knee swelled up and it's hard to bend it and sitting for long periods with it bent at work has only aggravated. I do not know if this is a side effect of the shot or if I messed it up mowing my yard. I have a riding mower but sometime it's difficult for me to get up and down off of it. Who knows with me!
I've enjoyed my stint in my Determined Daisies Spring Challenge. I've lost 7.5 lbs since April 8th. I'll take that. I'm having fun and meeting lots of really cool SP buddies.
That's about it for now. Enjoy your weekend festivities. My grandson graduates from high school on Sunday May 28th. So excited to see what his future has in store for him.
Just for kicks ~
