OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG you guys! This morning I officially weighed in the lowest I have ever been. Well, since approximately 5th grade or so??
A few months ago, my old Registered Dietician (RD) upped my protein significantly. After an 8 week plateau, I finally lost a pound. I mean, yay progress, but not exactly the speed I was hoping for.
Last Thursday, I did a bunch of metabolic testing and had a DEXA scan and my new RD used the results to change my diet quite dramatically, for me.
Protein 134 grams (36%)
Carbohydrate 166 grams (44%)
Fat 33 grams (20%)
On a vegetarian diet, 134 grams of protein is HARD. I'm still learning how to get this all right, but if you look at the tracker you can see a HUGE jump in protein and a significant decline in fat since Thursday.
Edit: OK that looks tiny on my screen but my protein is basically going from 70-80 grams/day to 120ish.
It hasn't even been a week yet and this morning I am down a pound, putting me exactly 0.2 pounds lower than the lowest weight I've ever been. I really think I was about 10 last time the scale would have seen this number. I don't have a full weight history since I refused to step on a scale or see a doctor for many, many years, but I remember when I was 12 I wore a size 12 and that number only went up and up. Today, I'm a size 12 bordering on 10 (my pants today are loose!).
I AM NOT DONE. I have been (almost) here before and this is the point where I've always started to gain it back. Not this time.
I am going to keep going, and I am going to keep it off. I still want to lose probably 20-25 more pounds. This is new territory for me and I don't know how long it will take (probably decades, but whatever) but I will keep working toward it. I will convince my body this is my new normal.
This is the happiest Monday I've had in a long time!
