Starting anew!

Sunday, May 21, 2017

I spend most of my time taking care of others, but not so much time on myself. I have 3 kids, with the youngest being medical fragile and requires a lot of care. I also have to help my mother with her medical appointments as she is not well either. With this being said, I put my own health needs on the back burner. I have decided to make my health a priority as much as everyone else.

Over the last few months, I derailed. Big Time! I tore my right hip labrum after having my left surgically repaired in Oct 2016 and fell into a depression. Although my labrum is not healed and still causing me problems (and I am seeing the Ortho for it), I have decided that feeding my disappointment with bad choices HAS to stop. I have to STOP feeling sorry for myself and START feeling better for myself by eating right and doing what exercise I CAN do.

So today, I start anew!

Good for you! It can be very difficult to adjust when things just don't go the way we planned and/or want them to. After having 2 hip replacements I know how it feels.

Oh geez, I'm so sorry. Hang in there! And yes, you need to take care of you, however much you may feel it's selfish and you don't have time for it. My favorite comparison is how on a plane, you're supposed to put your own oxygen mask on first, so that you can be sure to able to help your child. Life is like that also.

Good for you! My health/life didn't change until I started putting my well-being first and, funnily enough, everyone else is doing better, too. Autoimmunity is always a game-changer. You can do this!
