I'm a Little Teapot

Wednesday, May 17, 2017

Many of you might remember this Nursery Rhyme from when you were a child. If you have young children, I KNOW you know it! But did you know that there's a second verse??

I'm a little teapot, short and stout.
Here is my handle; here is my spout.
When I get all steamed up, then I shout,
Just tip me over, pour me out.

Do you remember the motions of putting your hand on your waist to make the handle, and to crook your opposite arm away from your body to make the spout? Here's the second verse:

I'm a very special pot, it's true.
Here let me show you what I can do.
I can change my handle,
And my spout.
Just tip me over, pour me out!

So many people commented on the Lily of the Valley poem, which is actually a song, that I felt compelled to share the Little Teapot!
