Slowly Getting Back

I'm still not running yet - I want to give my hamstring as much time to heal as possible. But I've been focusing on other workouts. I've got a 6-day weight routine (3 days on/1 day off - but cycling with different exercises so that it doesn't get stale), swimming and now riding.

I used to bike race and took my old racing bike (and I mean old - 7 speed freewheel, cro-moly tubing, 28-spoke wheels) to Silver Cycles to have them do a spring tune-up. Went out for my first ride since I got it back.

Wow...I used to climb hills *SO* much more easily...this was a bit of a surprise to me. All those years of running don't translate easily to cycling.

Later today I'm going to the gym (chest/triceps). Currently at 175.8 lbs - my goal is 160 lbs. 16 fewer pounds will make it easier for me to climb hills and to hit my goal of a triathlon later this year.

    You use different muscles with you run and when you bike. Some are the same but not all.
