"DON'T FEAR THE WHINER."

Tuesday, May 16, 2017

Doing a major revision on a work longer than 8K-10K words has been a definite mental challenge. since I am not nor will ever be an anal retentive writer, those revisions only took about two days.
[I have a cousin who is a published poet. He even teaches poetry at workshops. He once tried to write a 700 word Flash Fiction story. It took him over 3 weeks to 'get it right'. I advised strong medication, whisky and a therapist.]

I'm now on my third draft. I originally wrote this story, novella, in multiple First Person POV. After my second read-thru, discovering that even I lost track of who was actually telling their story, I switched back to writing in GOD POV. My story is now making sense.

As soon as i get this draft 'done', I'll be begging for readers. My uber-critical wife will be one, and my very good friend another. Still need to seek out 3 more. Our library started, again, a book discussion club for adults this time. If it gets off the ground, I will offer my project as a object for discussion. I really hope that idea works!

Remember: chocolate flavored wine is Not a real thing.

I pretty sure you'll get it done, especially with the help you have on hand. My wife's a writer and has a degree in English literature soooo, when I as her to proof my writing, I don my emotional body armor. I wish you the best.

Good luck with the latest revision, Steven. I hope it all goes well, and the library group might be a great pilot test.

And you are so right about chocolate wine...
