My Day

Monday, May 15, 2017

Today I decided to use some of the left-over roll of bubble-wrap to 'line' my south-facing bedroom windows for the winter. I really like it AND the fact that it will be good insulation for that room :-)

My g/son and his fiance came out early a/noon. They had their 20-week scan today. They are having a little boy. Funny thing is, before they even knew that they were pregnant, my other young g/son (who was just turning 10 at the time and is autistic) told his Mum that Maddy was pregnant and she was having a boy. My g/son and Maddy didn't even have a clue she was pregnant and hadn't talked about it with them either.

My daughter and the younger g/son came out after school so they found out that it is a boy, too :-) The younger g/son has decided he doesn't want 'another sibling' (his words.) The reason? Because it would mess his room up. When it was pointed out that his nephew would do the same he just casually said 'but he won't be there for long and then he will go home!"

My sister phoned me with some news today, too. Her younger g/son who is 8 (and who is also autistic) was accidentally pushed over at school a couple weeks ago. He had hurt his wrist so the teacher bandaged it up. Today his reading teacher noticed that he could do some things with his hand o.k. but not other things that he had been able to do prior to the accident. She examined his wrists (was formerly a Registered Nurse) and felt that they were broken. Because there is less problem with that teacher getting my g/nephew to do things than other people, including his parents, it was decided that she and another would take him to the A&E. Turns out he was TWO broken wrists so now they are in a temporary caste and he goes back tomorrow for the proper castes. He has chosen black.

What a clever thought about the bubble wrap. At first my thought was "what winter"....then I recalled you're way over yonder from me!!!

I do hope your grandson heals quickly. I can't imagine having casts on both wrists.
