I have come a long way

Tuesday, May 09, 2017

I thought it prudent that I set the record straight.

I returned to Sparkpeople a little over a year ago. It took me over a year to wrap my head around what is necessary to for weight loss. But, I am finally here!
Everyone has figure that on their own.

For me, it took years to learn portion control. YEARS!!! And I think that is something you should learn whether you're on a diet or not.

And then I had to 'fix' me. I had to figure out what makes me happy. I found out that there were lots of issues that I had to work on.

I think, once I laid all those issues on the table and started working on them, I was able to start losing weight. And that took time to figure that out.

Sometimes, that's what you have to do. You have to take time.

OH, and you have to realize that there is not a finite number of issues. You have to open yourself up to new ones that arrive and take them in stride.

Welcome back! So super to hear that you've kept your Spark and are celebrating it in whatever steps work for you.

We are all experiments of one...portion control is essential for many of us.

My indirect form of portion control is intermittent fasting, zipping the lip between dinner and lunch and limiting my food consumption between noon and 8 pm. No weighing or measuring required. I also eliminate processed carbs. No bread, cereal, chips, crackers and certainly no pastries or candies.

Been maintaining for several years this way.

I hear you. I am just surrendering to strict portion control and tracking. You're so right about being open to new issues and awarenesses about yourself.
