Week 18: 5K here I come!

This weekend, May 6, I will run my first 5K. Well, at least that's the plan. I've logged many hours on the treadmill and done a number of outdoor runs. I have not yet run the full distance, but I've done 2 miles or more a number of times, so I think I am ready for 3.1 (counting for some boost from adrenaline).
Once I finish the race, I can officially count myself as being in my best shape ever, even though I am technically over 40 lb heavier than I was at my thinnest. I know for a fact I am stronger than I ever have been, and this 5K will also prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am in the best cardiovascular shape too, since I have never run any sort of race before. I am hoping to complete it in under 45 minutes.
