Living in SW Michigan where the winters are long, snowy and cold, since retiring I have been getting away as often and as long as my finances will allow. This past trip to Hawaii was broken on my way there by a stop in Orange County to finally meet in person a long-time Spark buddy who became even closer when we both switched our 5% team to the Teddy Bear team. Braverude was such a gracious host. I was there only a few days, but she made sure I saw everything. Here are a few pics of the many I took:
Of course, the first morning, we went walking along the beach near her home:
Another day she took me to another natural beach area farther down the coast; we crossed through a tunnel to get there:
What's so great about the coast is that it's the coast! Another beach featured surf waves and sea anemones (my first). Even the hotels were quaint and colorful:
Of course there was eating, too -- you know there was, but Braverude is a fitness and health guru. She took me to a fantastic restaurant that served all natural and organic vegetarian meals that were to DIE for. And the name of the restaurant is so "a propos" for this whole trip for me. Believe it!
Okay...I'm SO happy you got to meet a wonderful sparky friend...but I must admit..I'm a little jealous at the same time. When you want to see creamy white sand and beautiful waves of luscious dreamy blue water come on down! Who can trump creamy and dreamy?...not many..ha..ha! I would suggest any time OTHER than hurricane season. 564 days ago
