My protein quest (ha!) continues. I'm still obsessed with my Quest chocolate milkshake protein, and my friend let me try this Syntrax fruit protein powder that I liked so I ordered the sampler of all their flavors. They seriously taste like Kool-Aid. Today's choice is grape. I got a blender bottle and so I sit here at my desk sipping my protein Kool-Aid. :)
The Syntrax is heavily marketed to people who have had bariatric surgery, like my friend. I ordered the sampler on Amazon and now all my recommendations are for post-bariatric cookbooks and so forth. It amuses me how the algorithm works sometimes.
I attempted to make these homemade protein/dessert bars but they were TERRIBLE. The good news is if I take them and stick them in a blender with some milk they made decent smoothies so it wasn't a total waste of protein powder and peanut butter.
The scale is stuck, but I've realized it's entirely my fault. My calorie count has been creeping up lately and so my average intake has been more like 1650 instead of my 1500 goal. 150 calories adds up over time. I'm not really *gaining* anything but I'm certainly not losing. I know if I can get back down to the 1400-1500 range it'll start coming off again.
It's up to me to make this happen.
I started my B-12 again yesterday. I don't know how long it really takes to kick in, but I can say today's the first day I haven't felt like passing out in the middle of the day. Whether that's a mental issue of just taking the B-12 or the actual B-12 doing its thing already I don't know, but I'll take it either way.
This week is going to be a little difficult for food since I now have plans Thursday and Friday nights, and all day Saturday so I'm not sure what I'll be eating. But I will make the best decisions I can, and keep the booze to a minimum.
It's Monday. Let's DO this.
