Time to re-jig my Spark life

Monday, April 24, 2017

I'm joining my good Sparkfriend 1ZIPPYC in re-vamping my goals and pulling myself up where I've slipped.
My plan is : -
- Be more consistent with water intake - I don't do badly but perfect would be better.
- Master a new fitness feat - want to try to do a well formed Plank and turn it into an 8 week streak - but I'll have to see how that goes.
- Stop flopping onto my couch when nothing else pressing is on the cards. I'm a terrible couch potato SO I'm going to make a point of moving every 30 minutes - once workouts and chores are done - either moving round the flat or taking a quick walk outside to the shops or the sea depending what takes my fancy.
- More enthusiasm with formal workouts or walking and adding more ST to what I do daily. It's easy for me to walk by the sea every day - 3 minutes away - but I also have rolling countryside to walk in and the ups and downs would tax me more. I intend to do that with the new walking group that I've joined and as an extra I'm going to try a membership with a local table tennis group set up for people like me who 'could but don't'.
I weighed myself this morning and find - with no great surprise - that I've gained 5 pounds over the winter. I always know when I've reached that point by my clothes and it's yet again time to catch myself and be stricter about what I put in my mouth. I've become careless on portion control and so it's time to stop 'eyeballing' and using overfilled tablespoons as measures and get back to my kitchen scales.
I've also taken on board a Secret of Success from SPfriend, NEW-CAZ - 'Always Show Up - You'll Feel So Much Better' regarding how much difference movement - be it walking or working out - makes to your day.
It's SO good to have inspiration from Spark itself and particularly from my good Spark friends emoticon

emoticon I am with you Sonia all the way! emoticon emoticon emoticon
You could have done worse than 5 pounds, so let's emoticon those pounds to the curb! Try not to overwhelm yourself each day....I try to do ST 3x a week about 10-15 min. a day. You could even use resistance bands off and on. I am getting there myself....one day at a time! Stay focused and so good you are back at it. Your health depends on it! emoticon emoticon

emoticon for joining me-makes me feel more motivated and encouraged. I won't let you down!

The last one to lose 5 pounds is a rotten egg! emoticon

Great goals Sonia and now the warmer weather is here you'll feel more motivated to get out there and walk- especially with your new Walking Club Friends to spur you on
A 5 pound increase is not a lot - you'll soon lose that.
I was told it's best with arthritis to move every 30 mins or so if you're sitting down a lot at work or in the evening, I do walk press ups or squats again a swiss ball when I get off my butt LOL

Good luck........you've got this emoticon emoticon emoticon
