Wow! My NSV!

DH and I had been keen to do the clifftop walk just beyond our favourite, regular foreshore walk. The calm, overcast conditions that were neither too cool or too hot this afternoon were perfect for this adventure so we set off.
The walk was steep and challenging in quite a few sections. The views down the cliffs were of rocky beaches and pristine clear waters. Out to sea was a expanse of still pastel coloured water. Close to shore the sea was dotted with recreational fishing vessels with the occasional one breaking the serenity with engine noise and the wake it left behind.
DH and I walked for hours. We were careful while still maintaining a very good personal pace at the same time. I am delighted with how far I have progressed since September last year. This walk would have been totally beyond my capabilities back then.
It is easy to forget the difficulties I faced when overweight or in my case obese. Doing this walk today brought home that losing so much weight has made the impossible possible. It has reminded me that I love being able to do things like this more than I loved the lifestyle I have left behind. I am in awe of how well my body meets the challenges I give it now. There is still some more weight to lose this year. I look forward to doing this walk again and completing the full section and back again when I am within my healthy weight range.
Here are some photos from today to give you some idea of the terrain and vistas. Unfortunately the steeper sections I was too busy traversing to take photos!
