Day 36 of 100 Days of Gratitude

Saturday, April 22, 2017

We probably only have 2 more bike rides before returning home to a place where biking is not really feasible without hauling them 100 miles away. So we put the bikes on the rack, drove to the next city which has great paths. 73 degrees, sunny day, perfect. We usually ride about 10 miles, but today we rode 18 miles. And the "personal parts" of my body were screeching by the end.

I'm grateful that we did it because at the half-way point, we arrived at the perfect time to watch a mother whale and her calf swimming slowly by ...not very far from shore. And we could see more of their bodies rather than the usual spout blow. What a treat! We sure don't experience that in the Rocky Mountains of CO!

Wow! Wow! Wow! How wonderful! You can rest up the sore parts today and savor that memory. :)

    What great timing!
The other day I saw two beavers in the woods chowing down on some tree bark. I spotted a flock of geese landing on the still frozen lake. Before the thaw we had two lake otter sightings. It's great being out in nature!

What a great sighting! No, we don't see whales in the Rockies but it has so many other beautiful things to offer.
I loved living in Colorado and now I love living on the coast! So grateful to have lived in many beautiful places.
