Weekend Highs and Lows

This weekend was my first time traveling. The low was that on Sunday night I was in full binge mode. The good news is that the universe was watching out for me. I went to Chili's and ordered fajitas with no tortillas (not a bad choice), but also ordered guacamole dip and chips. I had every intention of eating it all. I got back to the room and guess what? The guacamole wasn't there. Yep, they forgot to put it in and I didn't notice. LOL. So - I didn't really binge. But later that night I got a small bag of chips and a chocolate bar. Not good - could have been a total disaster. So I'm going to have to think some more about how to combat this since I'll be on the road a LOT with the new job.

The high was that I had a lot of fun with my son, Joshua. He's my youngest son who just turned 27. He's a huge guy with a big heart who works full time as a CNA. Unfortunately, he inherited my anxiety and eating issues, though. Right now he has no desire to get healthy and is a binger. He lives with his father and is still afraid to be out on his own. It breaks my heart, but I can't fix it for him. I try to model living healthy and I let him know that I'm here. We definitely have a great time together, though, and I'm grateful for our relationship. We hung out in Raleigh and went to the mall. We found a store called "ThinkGeek" that was the best! We went to the movies to see "Beauty and the Beast." I haven't been to the movies in a long time. The theatre was the bomb! All the chairs are recliners! Here's Joshua enjoying the comfort:



We loved it so much we went again on Sunday to see "Power Rangers." Yes, I ate popcorn both days but we skipped lunch so it wouldn't be too bad.

I started the new job yesterday and I am SO EXCITED. Got all my new equipment and this week I'm working from home doing some online training. The next two weeks I'm in Fayetteville for training as a participant (so we know what our pupils will feel like) and then some train-the-trainer stuff after that. I'm in my happy place!

Today I started the day with a 3 mile walk and a healthy breakfast. Now to go to the office (in the next room -sweet!) and get some work done. Hope you all have a fabulous day!
