Chinese Massage

Friday, April 14, 2017

Good Friday to you Sparkfam!

I am doing well and I gained about 15lbs over the winter season. So now I'm back at being active and since the kids got me a massage certificate last year and I went, I thought I'd try it again. So I had a Chinese massage done. It was a weird experience because they don't tell you to wear a certain type of clothing so I just showed up. Let me tell you that I was bound up from the shoulders to my waist! I should had on a bra top and had a shirt over to undress. The reason I did not is because it's 3 cots/lounge cots to a room. While I am getting a massage so are 2 other strange people. emoticon

Well I get there and I sit down on a couch that swallows me up. Then I wait patiently while my time comes. I have an ache in my shoulder and neck and I am hopeful that they will get down deep in my aches. I watch Netflix while I wait, eyeing the other customers because they are repeat customers. I then check out the prices on the board and they are quite decent. The one I wanted was a 30 minute neck, shoulder and back. I am motioned by the owner to come on back. I get back there and I lay down. NO!! I am supposed to wait until they place towels down and then lay down. NO! The one young lady says face up and then NO! Face down! UGH this is getting crazy and we all laugh nervously. I patiently wait for my massage to begin and she starts. Well she is pretty strong but I NEED STRONGER! She does an alright job but she got to my neck and was doing it lightly that I laughed. emoticon She then climbed on my buttocks, (YES you heard me) she climbed onto my buttocks and began to knead them with her knees! WEIRD! I didn't want my calves, thighs or butt massage but they always seem to go for those spots.

So she did a few moves that were really strong but still I needed more. If you've had one maybe you can leave some tips for me in the comments below. I would definitely go back but I will ask for the toughest masseuse that they have to offer.

It is Good Friday and as a Christian I am reflective of what it means to me. It some times bring me to tears but then I am elated because where would I be if He hadn't sacrificed His life, Oh but I'm glad that He did!

God bless, love, hugs & kisses!

Enjoy Resurrection Sunday!

emoticon That's pretty funny about the massage. Sweet of your kids to get that for you.
I am a Christian as well, and my husband and I never understood why they don't say "he HAS risen".. But yes, it brings tears to my eyes as well. I don't understand why it had to be that way, but someday it will all be made clear.
emoticon Hope you had a happy Easter.

Yeah, when I get massages I want them to be super-firm too.

Good Friday blessings to you. At church tonight we meditated on the seven words of Jesus on the cross, & I got to speak (briefly of course) on "I thirst." Blessed are those who hunger & thirst for justice, for they shall be satisfied.

I've only had one massage, and I don't know what kind it was. However, I take a restorative yoga class, and the instructor gives back rubs. It's great!
