Wow, Time Flies!

Sunday, April 02, 2017

I can't believe it is already April. What happened to March?

Things have been up and down lately. Work is really busy. The Spring market started very early this year. That is good because show season starts next week. Caitlin, JC's trainer, will be showing him the first part of the season. Due to all the injections in my neck and issues with shoulder and hip, I haven't been able to ride him much. Not sure how much that will change.

I finally had enough of my other doc and went for a 2nd opinion on my hip and shoulder. It turns out that I have tears in my hip tendons. He wants to do arthroscopic surgery on it to repair the tendons. Right now, I agreed to do the injections to get me through show season. I'm thinking I will do it in October when work is slow and show season is done. I will be on crutches for a month and then it will be at least another 2 months before I can ride again. That will only be January. So, I am hoping that I will have the rest of the winter to prepare for show season.

He also looked at the MRI of my shoulder. He said there is a lot of metal clanging in there from my other surgery. He needs to go in and clean it up. Wow, what a mess I am emoticon

Right now, I am just taking it one day at a time. It is what it is and I will deal with it.

My weight loss hasn't been lately, but there hasn't been a gain either. I am still looking at the door of the 160's, but just can't cross the threshold. I'm thinking all the steroid injections haven't helped. But, it is what it is. I am still doing my best to walk my 10,000+ steps each day and watch my eating.

With the Spring 5% challenge coming up, I am hoping to get into the 160's before it is done.

Keep on sparking my friends :)

I'm glad you got a second opinion, and it sounds like you have faith in this second doctor's opinions.

I'm sure the steroid injections aren't helping your weight, but like you said - at least they aren't making you gain, and you are able to keep up with your steps.
