Progress Update #9
Sunday, April 02, 2017
Progress is still slow but now it is more steadily going in a positive direction. I have developed a huge amount of scar tissue from all of my open wounds. I find that so scary since the scars are red and painful. The incision from the surgery is great and right on track with healing. The problem comes from all of the complications. I honestly don't know what we will do about it.
I have finally reached the "functional" level in my home therapy after weeks of therapy. I'm still not driving and I'm praying that I will be able to attend my daughter's wedding. I will find out this week if I will graduate from home care. My remaining wound is now only about 2.5 - 3 inches long and is close to being closed. If I stop home health, I lose my wound nurse. I'm hoping I'm healed enough that that won't be an issue. I will find out this week. If I can't drive, perhaps the therapist will help me to create a self exercise plan that I can do daily.
My main concern right now is all of the painful scarring. Does anyone know if there is therapy for dealing with that? I know it will be painful but, something needs to be done.
