April 2, 2017 DRAW CLOSE TO GOD
We see many young children who have a hard time staying clean. Some make a mess when they are eating. Others get out in the dirt and play. Then there are those who get dirty no matter what they do. If it wasn’t for their parents, they may never be clean. Parents are constantly bathing, wiping and washing their children to ensure they stay clean. Not being clean can lead to diseases and infections. We are God’s children and should draw near to Him so we can remain clean. His word can give us daily direction on living a clean life. He can help us stop desiring things of the world which can lead to sin in our lives.
Hebrews 10:22 “let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water” (NLT)
1. List ways you allow God to cleanse you.
2. Write about how sincere you are in your faith in Him.
3. Know God wants to cleanse you daily from sin.
4. Confess your sin, turn to God and seek His daily cleansing.
Dear Lord, we thank You we can draw near to You and You will cleanse us. We are so grateful we are Your children and You love us. Help us to remember daily to draw near to you with a sincere heart and full assurance knowing You can cleanse us from sin and from guilt. Thank You for Your cleansing power that makes us white as snow. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
When we don’t allow God to cleanse us daily through prayer and reading His word, we will be fighting this world alone.
God knows what is right and can direct our paths according to His perfect will.
When we are constantly struggling about what is the right thing to do, that is a sign we need to go to God for direction.
God is able to cleanse us and remove those evil desires at war within us.
When we don’t draw close to God, we will find ourselves unhappy and desiring the things of the world rather than wanting to do His will.
James 4:1 “What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you?” (NLT)
Without God we will continue to have evil desires within us.
