A Journey Together
Friday, March 31, 2017
We used to be that couple that everyone would comment on how good we looked together, then after marriage and back issues for my husband, the pounds found their way to both of us.
Last week my husband received word from his doctor that he cannot have surgery until he loses 60-75 pounds. This news was devastating to him as he is now almost bed bound because of his back. Him in the 300's (we don't have an exact weight now since our scale does not go that high) and I at 210 decided that we would join Weight Watchers together. I had done it before by myself and had great success so when I suggested that we do this together, he was on board.
We joined Wednesday night and by the weekend, we were at the store with our WW scanners looking for the foods we could eat to maximize our weight loss while not starving ourselves.
I am proud to say that after 1 week, I am down 7.5 pounds. I bought new jeans a size smaller than my old ones and they are still too big! We are going to get a scale tonight that will be able to measure his weight so that he can start seeing the numbers drop and be as excited as I am.
Dieting is never any fun but I honestly think that this journey together has brought us closer. We hold each other accountable and share our ideas for meal planning. We are actually having fun with this.
Next stop for me is Onederland!
