Many will argue there is nothing much better than knowledge. Knowledge helps us with our work. Knowledge helps us to do the right things. Knowledge can keep us aware of what is going on in the world. Knowledge is good. However, love is better. God’s love, that is. God tells us His love surpasses knowledge. He tells us knowledge will never last as long as love. He tells us without love, we are useless.

Ephesians 3:19 “and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” (NIV)

1. List what you know about God’s love.
2. Write down what you can share about His love with others.
3. Seek His love and His word daily.
4. Pray for opportunities to share His word and love with someone today.

Dear Lord, we know it is good to have knowledge and continue to seek to know more about You; however, as we seek to know more about You we are going to quickly learn You are love. Thank You for Your love. If we want to truly know You, we will know love. You tell us love is all we need. Help us to put love first in our lives when we are spending time alone with You. Show us how to love others as You love them. Teach us from Your word about love so we can grow both in knowledge and love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Love is better than anything in this world. Yes, even knowledge that helps us to live and work.

If we had knowledge and did all the right things, but no love, we aren’t living as God wants us to live.

1 Corinthians 13:3 “If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.” (NLT)

If we want to know how to love, we need to seek God’s love which is perfect and everlasting.

1 John 4:7b “Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.” (NLT)

Knowledge is only temporary on this earth but love will last forever.

1 Corinthians 13:8 “Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever!” (NLT)

Love is greater than knowledge. While it is good to know things, it is better to love.
