Day 29 of 100 Days of Gratitude
Tuesday, March 28, 2017
Well...I've been doing some serious biking, but have slacked off on walking. So "fate" took care of that today.
DH & I are living temporarily in a 2nd floor condo located next to the outdoor stairs down to the ground.
Today the construction workers boldly (without asking "my" permission) removed the stairs to the ground! Yep...awakened the dead with their hammering and yanked 'em out & took 'em them to a galaxy far, far away. They kindly installed a large wooden board so we wouldn't dash out the door and step off the walkway from the 2nd floor. (That's my #1 gratitude!)
It's about 120 extra steps around the complex now to the only other set of stairs and back to the bottom of where my stairs used to reside. And it's an extra 120 steps back to the condo.
Distracted by my new exit route, it took me three (3!!) trips to remember everything I needed to go to the grocery store. So I'm grateful today for the removal of the stairs and the mandated extra steps I'll be taking just to get down to Mother Earth. And I hope I won't sleep-walk and jump over that barrier. "And the cow jumped over the moon....." Owie!
