March 20. First day of spring... :-)

Monday, March 20, 2017

It doesn't feel like spring is on it's way today, but it is. Cold, rainy... as far as the weather is concerned, it could just as well be November or January!... and spring seems a long way off, but it's TOMORROW!...

Go figure.

It's been another roller coaster day.
Got a call this morning, riding to church. My stepbrother, David Lewis Russell, underwent a heart valve repair and they sent him home~ but today they shipped him off in an ambulance to the University of Washington hospital for some specialized care because a problem with the pumping function has occurred that may require a pacemaker and some delicate surgery so as not to disrupt what's already been done... scary. We're all praying for him...

It's Sunday night... Haven't done much of anything for the last few days, playing catch-up after the monthly dinner I give for the young missionaries who are assigned to my area. Saturday was more of the same but included a very dear friend who comes to help with some of the housework. Remember Teresa? When she needs a break from caring for her husband, she comes over and putters at my house, and we talk about everything under the sun. She's a special person, like having another sister, and it makes things fun--and she loves my cats! LOL
Today I went to church, and it always amazes me how the talks and lessons seem to be directed specifically at the things I have had questions about, or that I have been experiencing, during the previous week. I guess Heavenly Father really does know His children, and He knows what we need. emoticon

We talked about having the Holy Ghost, the Comforter sent by Jesus Christ, to guide us and help us wade through the trials in this life... Living in such a way so as to allow his presence and witness, praying and LISTENING so we can receive the inspiration we need. To hear and understand...
It was a beautiful but a very tiring three hours: Sacrament meeting, Sunday School, then the women's auxiliary, Relief Society. By that time the pain decided to kick in, so I was glad to see my ride waiting for me. I could hardly wait to get home... Laid down for a half-hour nap that turned into FIVE HOURS... I guess I needed that too LOL

I have been asked to prepare and present a talk next week for our Sacrament meeting, based on a couple of our articles of faith, regarding our beliefs about the scriptures and about revelations... What an honor and a joy...
Homework. LOL
Got a few things to do still before I head to bed again, this time for the rest of the night... things like feeding myself and the furbabies...and finishing up a report that I was supposed to turn in when I was sleeping...
...and no, my address hasn't changed. I still live in CRAZY! LOL

Love ya,
Kathy emoticon emoticon
