Back to Columbus

Sunday, March 19, 2017

Last night we saw Beauty and the Beast. It was good! I also managed to only have a handful of my brother's popcorn, and I had a very sensible portion for dinner and didn't binge or snack afterwards.

This is my last day visiting my family. Tomorrow I'll be packing up my cats and heading back to my apartment in Columbus. I'm feeling a lot more stable than I was when I came here, and the medication seems to be working to help me feel better each day.

This week I have two doctor's appointments, a therapist appointment, a volunteer workshop, my first session at the gym with my friend, and 2 other friends who invited me over for dinner/ coffee. I'm going to be a busy person this week, but I love it. I'm grateful to have so much to do, actually, but I'm still nervous about how my mental health is going to be when I'm alone in my apartment. I will try to get out and be around people a little bit every day. I think I need to work on decluttering and making my apartment a nice place to be, since I'll be spending so much time in it until May. I also want to get into the habit of making my bed every morning before breakfast. More organized living space = more organized mind.

Food: I am going to go to the store and pick up a lot of healthy stuff like ground turkey, veggies, greek yogurt, cottage cheese, berries, egg beaters, and low-carb tortillas. I'll be pre-cooking the turkey with onions and peppers and freezing it for breakfasts or tacos in individual portions.

Wish me luck. It's a long drive tomorrow!

I liked the lo-carb tortillas I bought, and will start trying to utilize lettuce-wraps for eating fajitas too.

Looks like you have a good handle on your schedule. Remember that when you are at home in the quite, take time to close your eyes and do deep breathing exercises to calm your mind and from what I hear it helps aide in weight loss. Win / win! emoticon BLOG

Safe travels! Decluttering always helps my mental outlook. I have heard good things about Beauty and the Beast!

I grew up in Upper Arlington, in a little brick ranch on the corner of Ritamarie Drive. We moved away in 1983. I love Columbus. Such a great city.

Safe travels! I think you are going to do great! I'm glad you have a therapist and resources for when times do get tough, because, yes, they will! but, if you stay on your meds and follow your plans you will do great! Good job on the popcorn! Movie popcorn is a big weakness of mine! Glad you enjoyed the movie too. I look forward to keeping up with you as you ease back into your independent lifestyle! Again, safe travels!
