Carb attacks

Having a hard time with carbs. I try to limit my intake for the day but then I just end up overeating on things like cereal, bread, or Carb filled snacks. It usually happens when I get off of work or when I'm stressed out. How do you fight off the urge to eat every Carb in sight?

    Hi!!! Sorry I haven't been around! Sometimes we crave carbs because we may not get enough protein, carbohydrates and good fats throughout the day. When we are stressed, tired, or bored we go for foods that give us the feeling of ah,ha...when we eat them.

    1. Make sure your foods contain all three macronutrients (we are feeling good...).
    2. Preplan your snacks - always combine a high fibre carbohydrate with a protein - energy, immune building and feeling satisfied feeling! The key is to plan the snacks that you will look forward to....whatever they may be. It could be crackers and tuna :).

    good luck and keep us posted on how it goes. Right now I am loveing the Fitjoy chocolate cookie dough protein bars. They are keeping me full. I need to reorder!

    I hear you, I had 12 servings of lucky charms in 2 days!!!! 12!! I started atkins /south beach diet. Carbs and me don't like each othe too much. I love your name! ! Excellent blog

    Stop thinking carbs are only bread, sugar cereals and such. You are going for quick energy, because those things are simple carbs. Have on hand more complex carbs coupled with a protein. I used raisins with nuts to help me go from after work to dinner when I was working. The raisins gave me a quick sugar burst and the nuts added protein, which curbed hunger by slowing digestion.

    I made swaps in baby-steps to whole food (meaning no processed) snacks. The key is finding what YOU love. Think protein, fruits, veggies, etc.

    After work is so hard! I do better if I eat a good snack on my way home and have a plan of what I am eating for dinner. Pistachios are my favorite!
