Have you ever noticed when you are happy, you have to share it with someone? ....And no matter how small, giving something of yourself makes you even happier?
This really occurred to me the other day at 5:00 a.m. I began making cookies so my DH could take to his co-workers. ...... He asked me, "What made you decide to make cookies At this hour?" And this is what I said.
To help brighten someone's day for no reason other than 'just because'.
When he comes home and tells me how much they loved my muffins or cookies, I beam and my happy gets even happier!
You just can't keep happy to yourself. Happy is meant to be shared! .....And when you find you're not feeling so happy, you can start with a smile, find someone who needs some happy, and you will both become happy!
Years ago, my Mother-in-law came to visit. I said, "Let's go for a walk." I said.........she quickly answered, 'I do not like exercise and I don't want to get it started!" ......... I said, "Really! I would like to hear about your feelings so tell me ..........(as I quietly guided her on a walk that ended up a 30 minute walk around the neighborhood) .......I know! I am sly! LOL
Long story short ..........As we walked and talked, she found herself enjoying herself and the next day we walked at a beautiful park, picking up the pace a little more. ...... Once home, she called her Sister and told her to meet her at "the trail' .... a place close and there they met every day for the last several years of her life! .....Before long, she called neighbors, and they had a small group meeting them each morning at break of dawn! ......(I even tried to convince her once, "You really can take a day of rest you know." ..........she said, "Oh no! the walking makes me happy!" ....... Ok then! and so it was ......... it became the "ladies' trail and the day came that she left her final footprint but not without being remembered. The friends she made continued meeting, walking and just getting happy!
And Isn't that the way it is with sparks! ....... One word of encouragement, sharing a tiny spark of happiness with another brightens their spark and in turn brightens ours!
Thanks for stopping by and have one happy day! .
