Ugly bushes in my yard
Sunday, March 12, 2017
I have these bushes in front of my house. Right in front of the house. And they're ugly. Seriously ugly. I've let them get overgrown and haven't been taking care of them. Mostly because they're ugly and I don't like them.
So today, I started to cut them down and start digging them up. Some of them had thick, deep roots. I'll definitely need a bigger shovel, and perhaps some extra help. When I'm done getting rid of all the ugly bushes, I'll plant some flowers. Perennials. Something to remind me to take care of them, no matter the season.
If you think about it, this can be any of us. How many of us hate the bushes we have? That have become overgrown because we haven't taken care of them. Now, we're all "digging those ugly roots up." We've made a conscious decision to start living a more healthy lifestyle. Our "bigger shovel" is SparkPeople, where we can get all sorts of information to help us on our journey. And our "extra help?" That's a no-brainer. It's all of us, cheering each other on, reminding ourselves we're not in this journey alone.
When we're done clearing out the ugly bushes and weeds, we'll have a nice flower garden. Some place to plant some pretty flowers. Perennials, to remind ourselves this is something we need to nurture and take care of, no matter the season.
