I saw someone post something regarding the Beck Diet and looked it up. Interesting, not really a diet at all but training your brain to think different. I picked it up from the library and read through the book.

They actually want you to write in the book (which I love to write in books, I use crayons, different colors). You go day by day, it is a six week process with commitments, reasons for wanting to lose weight, changing your over used excuses. One of the things was to quit eating standing up, I reflected and my brain said, "I don't do that". Hahah well a week later I realize how often I eat standing up.

The book even prepares you to go on a diet by laying ground work first. I still have about 20 more pounds to lose on this long journey and have learned a lot. This book to me is about basics and though I have gained knowledge and experience and am actually DOING some of the items, I believe I need them ingrained into my head.

So on Saturday to do errand list I am going to BUY the book at my nearest book store. I like me some Amazon but I do not want to wait two days to get started with the rest of my life.

I enjoy picking up a "new to me" diet book and seeing if there is anything in there that helps. I find it funny that usually there aren't many big realizations anymore. I've been at this so long that my work now is to implement what I know! And a new book can sometimes give you a lift and motivation to keep going. Great idea to check that out.
