I am still sitting (standing, walking...) at 159.5. This past week I was vigilant about caloric intake and increasing my activity and water intake. I also stopped drinking diet colas. So what happened? Why didn't I lose SOME weight. I am frustrated! I know all too well about plateaus and such. I've been doing this dieting thing most of my life, but I was being so smart about it this time.

I will stay on this new lifestyle and continue to make good choices about eating and exercising. I declare though if it doesn't stop raining soon, I am going to have to take up canoeing. That would definitely be some upper body exercise.

OK, I should be thankful for the weight I did lose in June. I know it has only been 3 weeks, so look at all the good things that have happened because of better choices:
I sleep better than I have in years - like I can actually sleep through the entire night with no help from drugs.
I haven't had a hot flash in a couple of weeks - hmmm, is that weight related?
I feel better, more energetic.
I met one of my weight loss goals and got a kicking new haircut and highlights.
I am meeting my calorie goals and water goals and exercise goals each day.
My daughter will finish her math class this week in summr school and Lord willing, pass it!
My husband is driving again and can get himself around independently.
He is also currently healthy - prasie God!
Since we have had SO MUCH RAIN in Texas, my electriciy bill is low (that never happens in the summer!!), I haven't had to water my grass YET, and it makes for cooler days (80's, not 100's) for when I am walking outside.
I am going to the International Worship Institute this week at the Gaylord Texan and Jim is going to join me each night for our praise services! Woohoo!

I just read that caloric intake should be 10% of your goal weight, which for me means about 1400. Let me see if I can try that out this week. Although, most of the time I eat about 1350 calories. Hmm...something to consider.

Alright, quit whining and go walk!
