Winter 5% Challenge and long term goals

The winter 5% challenge is in the final week. It went by really fast!! Even though I will not make the goal of losing 5% of my weight I feel very successful in this challenge. I didn't participate in the last two rounds of challenge and I had gotten very lax in being mindful of making healthy choices. Jumping back in and tracking "miles" and ltgl then joining in with many of the mini challenges my team had going I feel like I've gotten myself aligned again with my long term goals. I know I'll never do everything perfectly and that's ok because that isn't my goal. I want to be healthy enough to live longer and live well. Sometimes living well is having a piece of birthday cake to celebrate a special day and sometimes living well is pushing myself an extra 10 mins during my workout.

I've learned so much over the past 4 years about what it takes for me to feel my best physically and emotionally. It's my own personal path and I'm learning how far to edge I can walk it before I end up completely off of it. I've also learned that I can't expect to be able to travel down someone else's path. I can be inspired and educated by others success but I have my own unique success story.

I'm still going after the 5% and even though the challenge does have a time frame, I have no time limit. I will keep on going and in the right time I'll get that 5% but it's only a small step in a life long process of living longer, living well and walking my own path.
