One year of the new knee

Friday, March 03, 2017

I am now over one year post op for this new knee.
To say it has not worked out as planned is an understatement.

Yet I do see some light on the horizon. I had a manipulation in May, it helped a little.
I had ANOTHER manipulation in Dec. That helped a LOT!

I can now get up from a seated position without pain. A major improvement. My range of motion is getting a bit better after I warm up. Still going to Physical Therapy 2-3 days a week. I still have a ways to go but at least life is OK now. I still walk VERY slowly. Less than 2mph. For the first time in almost two years I did a 30 min. walk outdoors. My muscles were sore, but other than that I survived, LOL.

I can now walk unaided, no crutches or cane needed for daily activities. I no longer need that scooter to go shopping in grocery store. So things ARE getting better, just at a slow snails pace speed., but at least I CAN walk.

Hopefully things will get better each month. So now I can concentrate on losing some weight rather than having a poor me attitude.

WOOHOO! I am so glad to hear you are progressing, even at a snail's pace it's better than not at all or being in even more pain/less range of motion. I'm glad you can walk unaided again! Yea!

I don't know what a knee manipulation is but I need a complete knee replacement. So I can relate. I have to lose weight before they will do it. It's hard to exercise cause of my knee. I was glad to see your story
