Last October I did a progress report at 5 months in. At that time I'd lost:
9 inches off my hips
5.5 inches off my waist
4 inches off my thigh (x2)
1 inch off my calf (x2)
3.5 inches off my upper arm (x2)
1 inch off my lower arm (x2)
4 inches off my bust
2.5 inches off my neck
for a total of 40 inches, lol in 5 months and 1 week.
It's been 10 months now (okay, just shy of it by 2 weeks, but close enough), so I thought it would be good to catch up and do another progress report.
First off, I need to say that my progress in inches overall has been a little slower. Still, there have been significant changes, and I'm happy about it, and happy that I am fitting in smaller and smaller clothes.
I've lost 110 pounds total so far!
and (these are totals from the beginning, not just in the last 5 months)
14 inches off my hips (yes, 14 inches... wow that even blows my mind)
7.5 inches off my waist
5.5 inches off my thigh (x2)
1.5 inch off my calf (x2)
3.5 inches off my upper arm (x2) (stayed the same from last Oct -- boooo)
1.5 inch off my lower arm (x2)
8 inches off my bust
2.5 inches off my neck (stayed the same)
for a total of 56 inches, lol in 9 months and 2 weeks.
Beyond the pounds and the inches, there are plenty of other good changes. One of the things I LOVE about SparkPeople is the record it keeps to bring things into perspective. Especially since it is easy to forget about how difficult things were at the beginning. I think the mind WANTS to forget the bad, but it is so important to remember what made this journey so important to start with. I came across an old post on the message board today when I was looking at past posts to find something else. It jarred me, because I had forgotten all about this issue, and it was a big problem for me back then.
The post was:
I swear (right hand to God) no kidding, before I started this journey, for the last several years I was literally taking antacids every day. Many times, several times a day. I went through one of the big Walmart bottles of them a week without fail. I also always kept a box of baking soda on hand, and mixed a tablespoon of it with water to drink if the antacids didn't do the trick, or ... horror of horrors, I ran out and had to wait for my husband to bring some home (I couldn't go to the store on my own at that time). The DAY (and that is NOT an exaggeration) I eliminated all starches from my day's menu.... gone! I have not bought a bottle antacids in what will be 5 months next week, and I still have the remainder of the bottle I have on the bathroom shelf, gathering dust.
It's been more than 5 months now, it's been almost 10, but I still haven't had to take ANY antacids... none.
