Phase I & Weigh-In
Wednesday, March 01, 2017
It was way too easy to get off track and slide back into old habits and poor choices - binging, not exercising, not drinking enough water... My portions have gotten big (like restaurant-style big), and my largest-sized clothes are too tight. And this is the hardest thing to admit - I've been eating in secret. Scary.
Here's my first Phase I weigh-in from this morning, 185.8:
One of the things I want to maintain is blogging here on SP. What a great community! I enjoyed it so much when I was active a couple of years ago, but realize that I spent way too much time making sure my blogs were "perfect" - obsessing over grammar, punctuation, spelling, and pictures. That kind of all-or-nothing thinking is what not only keeps me heavy, but holds me back in so many other areas of my life. Now I'm making the effort to not pressure myself into making every post funny or deep or profound. Sometimes it's OK to whip out a quick post to stay in touch and plugged in.
My overall weight loss goal is 60 lbs., so I'm breaking that down into 3-20 lb. phases. When I reach the end of each phase, I'll re-evaluate and tweak my diet and activity, adding and removing things along the way. I recently downloaded a helpful "Goal Crushing" worksheet from Ruth Soukoup's "Living Well Spending Less" blog. Even though I've been through weight loss and gain so many times, I finally made myself sit down last night and actually write out some thoughts and strategies. It really helped!
Mainly I want to remember to keep it simple and to love my body through it.
