Going sugar free
Wednesday, March 01, 2017
At the moment I am on Bioresonance treatment for fungus, which has been bugging me for years.
This particular treatment requires you to go on a strict diet:
Sugar free - only stevia allowed
Gluten free
No fruits apart from Papaya
Certain vegetables not allowed
No leavening agents
No vinegar, no citric acid or any form of citrus
No coffee, no fruit teas.
Restrictions on dairy
This makes you rethink what you eat znd read your labels. That is very enlightening. Especially living here in Kenya where the labeling laws are not strict.
Did you know that potato chips can have lemon and sugar in them even for normal flavours? Did you know that chicory coffee replacement has citric acid? Did you know that malt barley coffee replacement has sugar?
It has been a challenge. Even carrying your lunch for a hike is a problem. I have now done almost 4 weeks of this diet and finished 3 weeks of the 12 week treatment. I am proud how far I have come. But every week there is a challenge. I still get sugar cravings. And eating out is difficult since even grilled chicken can be marinated with the wrong things and many salads come with the dressing already mixed.
But I have done 25% of the treatment so I will manage the rest.
