Good Day Today!

Woke up still feeling pretty under the weather -- lots of congestion and super tired. Even got out of breath walking up and down my driveway to get the morning paper. But, still, not as bad as the last few days.

Took my hubby to the dermatologist. He's trying to heal a wound from a Moh's surgery last December. May have to go to a wound center before we're finished. He also had to have another little lesion biopsied, so could be another Moh's in the near future. But, on the bright side, we got one of the new creams we're going to try to heal his existing wounds as a sample. Doc said that one would have cost about $700 if we had to buy it. Wooohooo!

By the time we got home, the day had warmed up into the 60's, which is like beach weather compared to what it is around here in February in other years. My congestion felt a little better because I'd taken my morning meds, so I decided to go for a bike ride. That's always a big pick-me-up! I fully intended to take it easy and not go too far, too fast. I'd already missed a day of exercise because I was sick and I was afraid, if I missed another, it would be to easy for me to fall off track. But all I needed was to be out on my bike. It was a glorious day and, while I didn't push for speed, I was able to go further than I thought I would. And it felt GREAT!

I even had time to practice my piano for an hour this afternoon. I always wanted to learn to play piano and when I retired a few years ago, I started lessons. I did pretty well, but for the last year and a half, my mother was very ill and caring for her limited my practice and lesson time. I just started again a couple of weeks ago and it feels great to tickle "Melody's" ivories. (Yes, I named my baby grand)



For dinner tonight, we had salad, eggplant parm, and red lentil pasta. I've gotta say, I was a bit unsure about the pasta, but it was actually surprisingly good. Also had the added benefit of lots more protein and only a few more calories than regular whole wheat pasta. I expect the additional protein to keep me feeling full longer.

It's 8pm here and I'm beat. It's now tv and knitting time.

It's been a good day today.
