To my new diet focus. Working out? Not a problem, happily go to the gym five or even six days a week. Diet? Erm...not so simple!
Issues for thirty years with obsessing over food, past history of bingeing, ongoing daily battle with compulsive eating. All that on top of being a type one diabetic. Fun! Lol.
But I've made huge triumphs in losing almost fifty pounds (49 to be exact, as I write today, but that number fluctuates by a few pounds here and there).
And I've gained quite a good proportion of muscle too, so if not for that, I would have lost more.
Anyway, my new focus is lowering my body fat percentage.
I am toying with the idea of one day entering an amateur figure competition, and am putting myself through a practice run. Strip some fat, and build and define a bit more muscle. See if it's do-able with family/home life etc.
My body fat at the moment is 22.8%, according to some basic callipers I bought online. Even if they aren't that accurate, it will still show progress (hopefully, lol). That's a pretty good number, according to the scale I saw (pretty sure they vary, and I have only looked at one so far), that is just away from "lean", into "healthy".
My target is 15%, which I know is neither healthy nor sustainable, but it's for a specific reason, not long term.
My diet goals right now are low fat, mid range carbs, and high protein.
Let's see how it goes!
