What is my WHY????

Good morning Spark friends,

This past week at our meeting the leader talked about "What's your WHY?"
In other words, why do you want to lose? What does that look like to you?.....he also said.....
"why do you keep coming here each week and it is taking so long to lose this weight??.....
DO IT FAST and stick to it." He really captured our attention with his loud Voice and Strong
personality.....made us really THINK about it..... emoticon He makes it fun and makes us smile. emoticon

I am the only person that can do this for myself....We are the only person that can do this for ourselves. The meetings are possibly 10% of helping, the rest, the 90% is up to us......Do I want to get to Maintenance I say to myself? Yes, then do it quickly and be FOCUSED....Do not be distracted by what others order. Order first if you are eating out, fix healthy meals at home and TRACK them faithfully, freeze some portions if you need to do this. Plan an exercise program by making an appointment with yourself. Put it on your calendar. We are worth it and we deserve better. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Do what works for you. (-: (-: Someday we can do more than
others. Just do something to keep moving and working toward losing and getting healthier......
Another thing that can interfere is any health problem that some of us face. Just do what works for you.....(-: Do not be a couch potato.

I am only speaking for myself with this info above, but maybe some of you can relate. Someone told me something that was kind of cute and recently I found the poem...it goes kind of like this....
"If you walk down a road and fall into a hole, go try another road, if that road does not work, and you keep falling, Find another road and maybe the Right Road will help you find the Best Directions for getting to where you want to go...." WOW this is an amazing insight.....sure sounds like me.......there are always excuses to why I was not able to do this or that, when it comes to eating better and now I think as I get older I realize, I should not even talk about it JUST DO IT And DO THE BEST I CAN EACH DAY....... emoticon

This morning one of my nice read-- articles was from---Eleanor Roosevelt----she had WORDS of Wisdom......that I enjoyed. "With the new day come new strength and new thoughts." emoticon

As I begin this new day and new week and new month starting on Wednesday, March 1, I am hoping to remember WHY I am wanting to lose weight? WHY I am planning each day for
a HEALTHIER Life and journey of precious time and happiness with my family and friends? I am doing my best to FOCUS on what is really Important. Making BETTER CHOICES is my priority and working on No snacking in the evening, which is a hard thing for me to get rid of......help.....

Thanks for reading and I hope I may have said something that struck home to a few of you.
Many of you have really helped me with my choices and better lifestyle. It is so wonderful to
know we can count on each other. Stay STRONG Spark friends and keep it up. So glad
for so many SPARK Friends. You are doing awesome things for better health and fitness.

    Ei, I'm catching up on blog reading and found this one of yours from a week ago. It hits home. My WHY is very clear in the morning but becomes less and less visible as the day wears on, until I fall into the "snacking in the evening" pothole. Yep--gotta find a new road or resurface the one I'm on! Nighttime eating is a real problem for me.

    I wish I could follow your group leader's command to DO IT FAST. I feel like the biggest procrastinator, but I never give up hope. Let's keep on keeping on!

    The why can be very motivating and the how can be habit forming but at the center of it all is the "you" that is struggling to be known and to be seen. Listen to that and the why and the how reveal themselves!
