I've been Paleo (specifically dairy and grain free) for a few months now and I really notice a difference when I don't eat or drink any dairy.
However, it's hard to give up ice cream, cake, sweet coffees. My husband is so supportive and keeps me on track but when dinner (roast chicken and root veg) didn't turn out last night we went out to the nearest restaurant, braums. So my hubs and kids had burgers, I had chili no cheese and it was gross.
I'm also plateaued with weight loss but I'm pretty sure sweets have a lot to do with it. I have a major sweet tooth and although I don't have grains I've found an affinity for glutten free mug cake... ugh.
It's an up hill battle but I've got to keep going!
