Thus time we went to basically climb the Great Rift Valley Escarpment twice from bottom to top over 2 hills: Kenton Hill & Nathan Hill.
We had several very steep ascents and ended the hike with the longest steepest climb I have ever done. Now I sore but feeling very proud of myself. 23 torturous km.
Here are more pictures
Here I was about to summit Kenton Hill, in the back ground you can see Mt Longonot one of the many volcanoes in the Great Rift Valley
Yes the camera had to be there
See that Hill I am pointing at. That is Kenton Hill. We walked all the way from there to where I am standing and had another 3 steep climbs before us.
this was the beginning of the last steep climb. Looked harmless enough. then the dirt staircase to heaven started.... It was so steep and didn't seem to end. But on one of the many breaks I took to catch my breath I was rewarded with this view:
Here I had finally reached the top. We still had almost 1km to walk to the bus, but in relatively flat area. I did not have the energy to take pictures of the incline, so here is a snap from where I sat down and didn't move for 20 minutes..... LOL
