This poem was written around Thanksgiving time but I did not want to give anyone the impression that squirrel were for eating at your feast.
Squirrals, they have to eat too! Laugh all you want, but they are God's creatures.
The love of watching them!
eating suet upside down on the tree
laughing I do, filled with glee.
Feeding them peanut butter on toast
Yes, I do spoil them! for, they are the most.
Toasted daily old bread,
so they will be fed.

People hunt them down to eat and roast
But, it is far greater to boast
in love of them...
They do share with the snow birds and mourning doves
Oh how fair! proves that they do love!

And, so should we be in our love for others.
God tells us so in His Word to care and love our brothers.
So, the next time you spot a squirral in your yard hungry,,
Pause and think what you have is plenty!
And share God's love as your pocket is not empty!

    Beautiful word pictures!

    I enjoyed reading this...very much!

When we lived out in the country of New England, I used to buy peanuts in their shells for the squirrels to enjoy. I put them on a low rock fence, at the end of our garden (before the wooded area started) & was surprised how quickly they disappeared. Especially surprising was the fact that as often as I looked out, I never saw any activity around the area of the peanuts...that is until one day I spied Bluejays doing their bomb diving of the peanuts...wiping the pile out in record time. emoticon

    God bless!
