Was a much less loss this week, but better than no loss or gaining weight. I am pleased.

This week I believe I have gained muscle with over two hours of exercise each day. I am getting so much stronger each day. I feel like I'm banking muscle and fitness for long term weight loss and health. I'm happy with any weight loss any week.

I have an auto-immune disease (Eosinophilic Esophagitis) where food sensitivities have a huge impact on my body. I have a lot of limits on what I can eat to control symptoms (swollen esophagus so I can't swallow is the worst). Sometimes I try different foods to see if they are safe foods. One of the first symptoms is weight gain due to inflammation. These last two weeks I was eating cooked tomatoes, balsamic vinegar/ACV, and nuts. In addition to slower weight loss I have also been having an abrasives feeling in my upper esophagus, signs that I've eaten something I'm sensitive to. I'll drop these three things for the next next few weeks and see if symptoms stop. If they do I'll probably try the ACV again and see if it's safe, Then and add things back one at a time. What I'm happy about is that there's this Spark journaling for me to keep track of things. Thanks Spark!

Thank you Ramona. It's so nice to have people who understand. I don't really know what I'm sensitive to. I just know that when I'm strict it works. I'd purchased tomatoes for a pot luck salad and had left overs. Some day i'll move to the next aip level and try to see what i can add back in. Thanks again!

I admire your commitment to the process, and I like that how you've phrased it: "I feel like I'm banking muscle and fitness for long term weight loss and health." That's really the crux of it, isn't it?

What made you try the cooked tomatoes? Are you sensitive to other nightshades (peppers, potatoes, eggplant)? Are the nuts with skins, or without (the phytates are concentrated in the skins)? These would be the more likely culprits form an AIP perspective.

Elimination protocols are tedious, but so worth the effort in the long run. I wish you luck with the investigative work. It still amazes me the extent to which food sensitivities affect weight gain/loss.

That is about 13 pounds down in 3 weeks. Even if the last week was 0.6 pounds, that made the first two over 6 on average.

I'm suspecting you had some water fluctuations, which made week 2 look better than it was by a couple of pounds, and that last week not as good as it really was. In other words, I'd expect another 2 to 3 pound loss in week 4.

You have some things against you with that auto-immune disease, and food sensitivities. Have you cut out all wheat while eating Paleo or low carb? Plenty of people have problems with wheat. Though you sound like you are so sensitive that you would know it right away. Still, if it is wheat, and on top of that other things, then why not cut out wheat?
