Obedience to the Process

Monday, February 06, 2017

Many people cringe at the word obedience. I love it. I love rules and guidelines. I find security and safety in them. I have always been a rule follower.

Losing weight is a process.
There are guidelines and rules:
*Eat less, Move more
*Just Do It!
*Eat real food
etc, etc, etc

But sometimes, no matter what weight-loss plan we're following: Keto, WW, Atkins, Paleo, etc... Sometimes that darn scale won't move

So, when the scale isn’t moving downward, or isn’t moving fast enough, here are some questions to ask:
emoticon Did I overeat this week on any day?
emoticon Did I move more and exercise regularly?
emoticon Do I feel lighter than I did last week on weigh-in day?
emoticon Did I eat in secret or out of anger or frustration?
emoticon Did I feel that, at any time, I ran to food to meet my emotional needs?
emoticon Before I hopped on the scale did I think I’d had a successful week?

Define yourself by your obedience to the process --- not on a number on a scale!

Yes very true. I usually weigh in on Mondays but a little scared because of what I ate yesterday. I didn't go overboard, but it definitely wasn't as clean as I usually try and eat.
I am a rule follower too.
