Sunday Breakfast

Sunday, February 05, 2017

I did something this morning that I almost NEVER do! I went out to a fast food place for Sunday breakfast. My friend invited me to join her for breakfast and a chat. The chat was nice but I will never go to this place for breakfast again. I had a classic bacon & eggs (scrambled) and coffee and managed to consume almost 900 calories. Yikes!!! It was an eye opener to say the least and the amount of food was puny. There was no other way to describe it. I'm not even sure if it was real eggs or egg substitute but it doesn't matter anyway. I even went for whole wheat toast. I did have the hash browns which I could have skipped. To add insult to injury, we didn't even get a refill on the coffee! Live and learn I guess. Looks like I will be using my stationary bike tonight for sure.

That's the thing that I cant get around. I looked online for the nutrition stats for this place & tried to pick the least offensive meal & regular eggs like I chose was it. All the other offerings were worse.

I usually don't eat out for breakfast, but when my husband and I were in another state a couple of weeks ago and ate breakfast at a well-known restaurant, I couldn't believe that one meal could have more calories than a normal person should have for one day. We finally found one meal that was lower in calories and that we could split. Who needs 4 pieces of toast, 2 big pancakes, 2-4 pieces of meat, and 2 eggs (?) for one meal?

You're right about that. I am pretty cheap when it comes to eating out so when it's disappointing, I really do feel cheated.

I hate going out to eat and finding out it's a lot of nothing but soars in calories and mostly likely sodium. I find that I do so much better at home and my blood sugar doesn't soar and I don't feel bloated from all the sodium. I cook with spices and herbs, never salt.
