Back again

Well, after getting very relaxed with my eating, I am between 7-10 pounds outside my maintenance range these days....booo! emoticon It's really not even so much about weight as it is about going up a size. It was sooooooo wonderful to know that I could wear everything in my closet comfortably. I never stopped exercising - it is a big part of my daily routine and I love it - but food is definitely more important in maintaining weight (or losing) than exercising. Like they say, you can't out-train a bad diet. And what's the other saying....great abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym! So I'm going to be more active here on Spark in hopes that all your inspiration will keep me more accountable. Please let me know how you're doing, what you're cooking (I am feeling uninspired and kind of overwhelmed with figuring out what to make all the time...ugh!!) and about your successes!

    I'm with you...about 5-8 pounds over my maintenance range. Every year, it happens to me in the holiday/winter season.

    But I'm working to reign it back in. No more baking for a while, and I'm keeping snacks and treats out of the house. Since I live in the country, there is no treat I'm willing to go out in the cold and drive for!

    I fully agree I am active every day but got into the habit of treating myself with calories. I am been more aware of my bad choices and going for smaller portions. Not easy bit it will be worth it as I also want to be down a size

    I agree on the eating. I'm not a good cook, DH is and he's not interested in low-fat. So I just eat smaller dinner portions and keep it light and healthy during the day.

    I'm about to put an egg on a whole grain english muffin spread with avacado, a little sprinkle of cheese and some vanilla greek yogurt on the side for a fast breakfast before we head out of the day. I have a small baggie of whole grain cheerios and raisins when I start feeling hungry while we're out.

    Keep at it till you find what works for you. We're all in this together!
