A #beyondthescale kind of day

Thursday, February 02, 2017

My WWDays are all about eating better and moving more, and we know it's more than just that...sometimes it's #beyondthescale. Today I did other things for me in addition to eating better and moving more.

This morning I had an appointment with my derm for my yearly all over body check. Since I love the sunshine and grew up in a swimsuit, I'm often paying for it when I see the derm. Today she didn't see a single mole on my body that needed to be removed. SCORE! I always breathe better post appointment when I hear that...and it doesn't happen often. She always finds something.

I had time to walk outside (SO COLD, real feel of 1`) before my next appointment. To make my hair look as young as my inside feels, I enjoyed getting my hair youthenized. It's important!. Believe me!

And I walked some between that appointment and the last: acupuncture. I used to get pinned when I worked at the hospital--one of the BEST benefits for someone with pain. A friend said that the senior center had pinnings on Thursdays for $20, and so I went. I was the youngest one there, younger still cause of my necessary youthenization procedure. 40 minutes later I walked out feeling better. My wrist pain is gone and my two fingers feel mostly better.

And I walked Elmer in the field when I got home. And it was still a real feel of 1`. Hard walking in the wind and snow. Elmer loved it.

Some days we do other things to make our body healthy. Today was one of those days. AND I still got my 14000+ steps done.

Oh my gosh, except for the acupuncture, I could have written this blog.
I grew up with a lake in my backyard. I, too, was elated that my dermatologist didn't find anything for removal by a surgeon in the fall. I did find something he took a biopsy of because it was unusual but it wasn't a problem.
Thursday night I stopped at a salon and was fortunate to have someone cut my hair who was a true artist. I love the cut and he blew it out. I met friends for dinner Friday night and they loved it.
I've always thought about going to an acupunturist someday. If I could find one for $20 I would do it!!! What a great deal.
And, although I haven't re-started yet I plan to join Weight Watchers after Christmas. Last year I bought a 5 month plan from Jan. through May. I took a summer hiatus but was doing so well with the 5% challenge here on SP that I didn't rejoin but I will in about a month. Last year, right after I joined, Oprah was giving away fitbits and boxes of WW products. I had joined too early and missed all that!

You need to post a picture of your youthenized hair!

Yay! That is a great deal! We have a local acupuncture school, so I go there sometimes if I just need a tune-up. It takes a little bit longer than going to the Master, but they are supervised and you get to learn cool stuff while they do it and it is discounted. emoticon

The students are done the schooling, they just need X number of hours to be certified, so I'm not the pincushion! emoticon

Thank you for the reminder for my annual derm appointment. I am very fair skinned, so I always loaded up on sunscreen. I still go, just to be sure. emoticon

Awesome report! You are so right--we really do need to take as best care of ourselves as possible.

I love the idea of youthenizing the hair. I got my "at goal" reward French manicure today. I never had a derm appointment--you got me thinking now.

    Keep on blogging!
